Where Sandy's Water Comes From
Sandy City's Consumer Confidence Report says its sources include mountain streams, surface water reservoirs and a network of groundwater wells. Sandy Public Utilities buys water from the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and Sandy, which delivers all of the city's water supplies.
The city has 16 wells that pump from underground aquifers. They usually run only in summer to meet high demand and keep up pressure, so the mix at your tap can change with the season.
