Where Bountiful's Water Comes From
According to the city's 2025 Consumer Confidence Report, about 60% of Bountiful's drinking water comes from eight wells around the city, some drawing from formations as deep as 750 feet. About 20% comes from Mill Creek in Mueller Park, which the city treats at its own plant, and the other 20% comes from the Weber River through the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District plant on Davis Blvd.
Groundwater picks up calcium and magnesium on its way through the rock, so a supply that leans on wells tends to run harder. When the blend shifts, the hardness at your tap can shift with it. A softener set for your home's actual water keeps up with those swings instead of guessing.
