Riverton says its Green Well has been unused since 2015, when the city fully switched to buying water wholesale from the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District. The city's Green Well Project will add a reverse osmosis plant to purify that well's water and supplement the supply.
Riverton expects residents to notice little to no change in taste or hardness when the Green Well comes online. Jordan Valley lists its water at about 10 grains per gallon, which is hard.
